Review: The Last Russian Doll by Kristen Loesch
Rosie has a nice life in England, but her family’s murder in Russia still haunts her. After her mother dies, Rosie decides to go back to Russia to learn what happened and more about her family and the porcelain dolls her mother had. She travels with an enigmatic Russian writer and the bodyguard he hired for her. She finds out who hurt her family and discovers other things about herself and her family’s history. She eventually learns about a young aristocratic woman named Tanya who lived at the time of the Russian Revolution in 1917. We see Tanya’s story as well and it will eventually tie into Rosie’s story. The dual timeline was done well and the characters were interesting. The story was a little slow in some areas, but it was an interesting story.
