Review: In Search Of A Prince by Toni Shiloh

Brielle Bayo was not expecting to find that she is a princess of kingdom off the coast of Africa, but when her mother tells her about Brielle’s deceased father, who was a prince, Brielle is shocked. The King of Oloro Ile, Brielle’s grandfather, is dying and wants her to come to the country to learn to rule its people. With her best friend Iris, Brielle goes to the country she is heir of and meets her grandfather. She has to deal with some people questioning whether a woman could rule, hostility from extended family and one council member, and her own insecurity. On top of all that, there is a rule that she has to be married to be queen. The hunt for her husband is on. When the three candidates that the council propose fizzle out, she chooses the palace runner she is falling in love with, Tomori. Relying on God to see her through her marriage and being crowned Queen, Brielle’s faith is strengthened and she eventually feels confident with God and Tomori by her side.
The characters were written so well and I loved the friendship between Iris and Brielle, both encouraging each other in faith and thier circumstances. I really liked the romance between Tomori and Brielle and the encouragement and support he gives her when she is queen. The story is engaging and well written. The faith elements were very good and encouraging to the reader as well as the characters.

Review: Heart Of Red Blood Of Blue by Rebecca Belliston

When a betrothal with a rival kingdom ends in a disaster, Gisela daughter of the king of Steinland believes it is because she is albino and the death of her betrothed,Prince Jerrik and some of his family is the start of war between their countries. Gisela believes that Bloodless Kristoff, a supposedly brutal commander from Krongton has killed her siblings and will eventually kill her as well. Gisela is betrothed to another king, but she does not want to marry him and runs away on the way to his country to evade his lust and cruelty. Eventually after an attack on the coast of Krongton, Gisela comes face to face with Kristoff, and he takes her into the country. He doesn’t know who she is at first and Gisela learns that Krongton and its Queen and people are not what she believed they were. Review: Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth

Jessica, Norah and Alicia were just girls when they lived with thier foster mother and grew into sisters. When a body is found under the house they lived in during that time, questions about their foster mother and what she was capable of spur them to remember thier time with her. All three girls had difficult lives and this plays out with Jessica and Norah, while Alicia tries to help kids like she had been. All suspect thier abusive foster mother of doing something to someone, but they don’t have proof. Eventually the truth comes out and it frees the sisters to live thier lives. I thought this was disappointing story in that it was slow and was predictable. The twist at the very end was good, but I couldn’t get into the characters either. I liked Hepworth’s other books like The Younger Wife and The Soulmate better. Content warning: child abuse sexual abuse and strong language  ⭐️⭐️
