If I Run by Terri Blackstock

Casey Cox stumbles upon her friend Brent’s body and knows she has to leave town. She knows that someone killed Brent because she had told him about her fathers death and that she didn’t think it was suicide like the police report said it was. Casey also knows that the police will think she killed Brent and fears that she will be killed by the dirty cops her father knew about. Dylan Roberts is a former soldier and investigator for the army and is devastated about his friend Brent’s murder. He wants to work in law enforcement but his PTSD from his time in Afghanistan hinders his prospects. When the parents of Brent and the detectives on the case ask him to find Casey, Dylan accepts the job, thinking to bring the woman who is suspected of murdering his friend to justice. Meanwhile Casey meets an older woman named Lucy and after talking with her decides to stay in the little town where Lucy lives with her daughters family. Casey incidentally ends up helping Lucy and her family in the matter of their missing daughter/granddaughter. Dylan traces Casey, but has suspicions that Casey may be right about her father’s death. He is still struggling with his PTSD, but his faith and talking to his therapist helps him. Casey has to run from the town she stayed in, but she is starting to trust Dylan a little. This was good story, fast paced and I liked that it switched from the point of view of Dylan and Casey throughout the story. Content Warning: mentions of suicide and suicidal thoughts and some descriptions of wounds.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #christianfiction #suspense #faith #fiction
